Introduction
The purpose of this Modern Slavery & Child Labor Statement (the “Statement”) is to raise awareness and knowledge around HeroDevs, Inc. (“HeroDevs”) efforts to address the issues of Human Trafficking and Child Labor and is valid from April 20, 2024 - April 19, 2025 (the “2024 Statement”).
In accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act, and in alignment with the ILO 2014 Protocol to its Forced Labour Convention, ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals target 8.7 (referred to collectively as the “Applicable Directives”), this 2024 Statement describes the steps HeroDevs has taken to prevent Modern Slavery and Child Labor from occurring in its business or supply chain. As used in this 2024 Statement, "Modern slavery" refers to slavery, forced or compulsory labor, trafficking, servitude, and/or workers who are imprisoned, indentured, or bonded. "Child Labor" refers to work performed by someone under sixteen (16) years of age, or under fourteen (14) for light work, provided it is not confined to periods that interfere with the child's schooling and not in conditions that interfere with the child's health or well-being.
HeroDevs conducts its business in a socially and environmentally responsible manner, respecting the law and universal human rights to benefit the communities where we work. The health and safety of the team members and protection of communities and the environment is a key priority. As such, this 2024 Statement applies to all employees, directors, officers, contractors and suppliers.
About HeroDevs
HeroDevs is a Delaware incorporated company, headquartered in Utah, with team members dispersed around the world taking part in the remote-work policy.
HeroDevs is a software company that provides award-winning support services to open source software, applications and programs (referred to herein as “Software”) which have reached their end-of-life. HeroDevs is committed to providing never-ending-support to the Software in the form of technical support, compatibility and security fixes (the “Subscription Services”) during the term in which a customer has purchased such Subscription Services. HeroDevs Subscription Services enable customers to continue to rely on critical Software after it is no longer supported by the originating creator, project and/or company.
HeroDevs Modern Slavery & Child Labor Risks
As part of its provision of the Subscription Services, for the Software, HeroDevs does not conduct any manufacturing of, or otherwise produce, hardware or other physical technical devices. As a result, HeroDevs does not use recruitment agencies for the kinds of services often performed by migrant workers.
HeroDevs Vendors
Given the nature of HeroDevs products and business, the supply chain mostly consists of hiring independent consultants and the procurement of various software-related goods and services (referred to as “Vendors”). In order to be a Vendor of HeroDevs, such third parties must supply adequate (at HeroDevs sole discretion) information to enable the review and verification of, (i) Vendor’s ability to render the applicable products and services, and (ii) Vendor’s good standing with respect to applicable laws, rules and regulations.
HeroDevs adopts a practice to engage with Vendors to increase their own accountability. HeroDevs regularly requests that strategic Vendors provide a copy of their Modern Slavery Statement and other policies related to the fair treatment of people. Each of our team members may report concerns with regards to any Vendor, which report will be considered and reviewed by our team of directors and management. HeroDevs requires all Vendors to adhere to all applicable domestic laws and encourage them to conduct their business in a manner consistent with the Applicable Directives, including the elimination of forced and compulsory labor and the abolition of Child Labor.
HeroDevs, Inc. is committed to respecting human rights consistent with the spirit and intent of the Applicable Directives.
Conclusion
HeroDevs, as part of this Statement, the HeroDevs Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and other policies, is committed to doing our part to eliminate modern slavery, human trafficking and other human rights violations. Our team continues to explore opportunities to enhance human rights due diligence and to implement processes that will decrease modern slavery, human trafficking and other human rights violations. As times change and as new human rights risks for businesses are identified, our team will work to adapt our capabilities and processes to address problems and maintain our commitment to these issues.
